Scambaiting the 419 Scammers

Ok, this has nothing to do with PR, but it'll still make you feel pretty darn good. Call it "what goes around comes around" fulfilled.

You know those nasty, 419 scam buggers who make a sport of targeting good-hearted, yet naive people and bilking them out of money? Wired News reports about Manchester, England-based Shiver Metimbers (great name) and his 419 Eater group (it apparently has more than 20,000 participants, and there are many other scambaiters worldwide) that set about beating the buggers at their own game... and getting them to submit humiliating pictures in the process. One of my favorites is this old The Church of FIsh and Chips one -- make sure to scroll down to not one, but two, pictures of scammer Babatope with fish on top of his head.

Maybe the scambaiters can get the buggers to participate in Mike Manuel's new Second Life Fight Club.

Classic stuff, Andrea! Thank you for sharing!

Jeez, I can't stop laughing at the Church of Fish and Bread scambaiting routine. That guy was an utter genius! After a long bout with the flu, this was just what I needed. Thanks for the quick pick-me-up, Andrea.

As always your blog is great.

P.S. Love your photos, looking forward to seeing more of your digital talent!

Yeah, isn't it nice when the tables are turned?

ALL HAIL FISHHEAD!
