Comments

Andrea:

How did I miss your post on this? I guess I can claim that I've been busy but that's no excuse.

Sorry for the tag. But your entries are much more interesting than mine!

Okay, okay - I'll play along. But only because you asked so nicely ;-D. Just give me some time to think, okay? BTW: I guess 'tagging back' doesn't count? (blimey, this sounds like a question I haven't asked since my playground days...)

John, that's ok, I'm a team player :-)

Serge, I did this because I know how much you like to get in touch with your inner child!

Wait a minute... you were a news announcer?!
I think it's time we had your online PR blogs news podcast.
seriously. Come on. Let's hear your dulcet tones.

Oh and,BTW, thanks for your kind words on the 99th post, Andrea, and hooray in advance for the next 99.

Are you using CoComment yet? I know you're keen on harnessing the power of comments. This could be a great addition to your sidebar. I am going to incorporate one into mine as soon as I come up for air this week.

Neil,

The News Announcer gig was a long time ago. With regard to podcasting, I'd love to do it but can't be the lead right now (not enough hours in the day), but would be thrilled to be a part of a team endeavor.

Yes, I should start using CoComment, it sounds wonderful. I'll add it to the list...

Andrea, I was another of John's tagging victims.

Looking at your choice of teevee, I thought you'd be interested in my contention that "The Colbert Report" has surpassed "The Daily Show."

Colbert doesn't break character when he does his interviews, while Stewart eagerly ditches the facade when he sees a chance to kiss butt and score political points.

Colbert is a spin-off from the Daily, but has hit a quality stride much sooner than Stewart did after inheriting Kilborn's stillborn. Stewart had far more time to grow into his britches.

The "Get To Know a District" is inspired.

All of that, and I love to see the look on his guests' faces when he runs across the stage to the applause. Dershowitz was a good interview, as was Dermot Mulroney. The best was Peggy Noonan.

Thanks Ike. I agree that Stewart and Colbert have different styles, which is why I like them both for different reasons. My take? Stewart can sometimes get away with outrageous questions or statements simply because he says them with a smile on his face, while Colbert has an edgier, won't-take-guff approach that is funny precisely because, as you said, he doesn't break character. Both great talents.
