Pick Your Ken
As I've said before, people tend to have a love-hate relationship with Barbie. I'll be the first to admit that, growing up, I thought Barbie was an uptight, girlie-girl priss (this was before her more recent ambitions of becoming an astronaut, a soldier, a paleontologist, a doctor ... all within one lifetime, of course). And Ken? Well, if he was interested in hanging out with brainless Barbie, he was just a flaky pretty-boy.
But I was wrong about Ken. Just like Barbie, his forty+ years demonstrate that he's got what it takes in the competitive toy market. And just to prove that he's a force to be reckoned with -- a modern man adaptable to any and all challenges -- Mattel offers a Ken for everyone.
This, for example, would be the Beyond Madison Avenue Ken:

We have our own 'action figure', now if THIS isn't a sign that BMA has hit the big time, I don't know what is! But I'm jealous....Ken's car looks faster than mine!

Since there is no picture of the famous Mack Collier on your blog, I had to improvise…
Barbie and Ken have definitely come a long way, but I still have my reservations. Thank goodness no one is making a Barbie for *this* blog.

I was going to go in there and make one for myself, and the Barbie site's music almost gave me a heart attack.
When my ticker returns to its usual pace, I might go back and check it out again.
Btw, Mack looks like a combination of geek-chic and rock-and-roll bad boy there. Would make a great profile pic, since he has none.

Jordan,
Yeah, the Barbie music is pretty bad! Your description of Mack's Ken is dead-on...maybe you can suggest he use it as his BMA pic.

Ken has a more plastiquey look than I do, and he's wearing glasses. Other than that and my hair being slightly shorter, that's pretty close to what I look like!
Why do I find no comfort in that?
